On Oct. 16, 2014, Aaron took one last look through his portfolio as he prepared to be the first Timberline PK-8 student interviewed for the University of Colorado's Pre-collegiate Program this year. The program is designed to help first generation students and their families in their preparation for higher education goals. "My dad made me want to do the interview because he is doing well in life. I want to be a mechanic like him, but I want to major in business so I can own my own shop," said Aaron after his interview. In November, CU announced the list of accepted students and Aaron was thrilled to be among the twelve 8th graders and nine 7th graders from Timberline to make it into the program. Now that he has been accepted, Aaron is particularly excited about getting to spend time living in the dorm and taking a college class on CU's campus after his junior year of high school.
