A successful visit from CDE

Timberline PK8 had the privilege to host a Colorado Department Education (CDE) visit Nov. 20, 2014.  Teachers, principals, and superintendents from all over Colorado came to the school for a meeting and toured our school. Our STEM Student Leadership Team were able to give a tour to show all the wonderful activities and STEM displays that we have at our school.  Some of the observations from visitors included the obvious importance of design thinking as a unifying school-wide philosophy, the focus on rigorous, "hardcore" mathematics that was happening in the classrooms, and the joy in walking around to classrooms to view engaged students that were excited about what they were learning. One visitor really wanted to stay behind and play with the students while they were learning about magnets, and many lingered by the various displays that decorated our halls.
