STEM Day at the Capitol

Colorado Succeeds (an organization dedicated to continuous improvement in our state's education system) hosted a STEM day at the Capitol for local educators and policy makers to meet with legislators to discuss current issues and bills that affect STEM education in our state. The morning began with a panel discussion around the importance of industry and education partnerships in advancing STEM programming for all students. St Vrain Valley Schools had a great contingent of participants lobbying for House Bills 1289 and 1291, addressing how to increase student industry certifications and computer science education in our classrooms.

How can you help? Get involved! Colorado Succeeds helps move the industry-education discussion move forward, and provides many tips and pathways for interested participants to get involved in the legislative process. Read more on their website, and contact local legislators to promote the bills you believe in. House bills 1289 and 1291 will be discussed at the capitol on March 29th.
