"Dive into STEM!" Night: Oct. 22nd

 Indian Peaks Elementary is hosting a "Dive Into STEM" Family Night on October 22nd from 5:30-7pm.  The event will have a multitude of hands-on activities family rotate through and experience together.  Visit 5 stations and enter your family to win a Kindle Fire HD! Activities include:
Denver Aquarium

Learn more about life on a coral reef with hands-on props at the Denver Aquarium table.

Linz Craig

"Run the Code" with an interactive obstacle course.  Learn about computer engineering in a kinesthetic way with multiple, high-energy coding stations.


SVVSD Innovation Center

Interact with the 58-cm tall humanoid robot, Nao.  It can move, recognize you, hear you, and even talk!


Ecocycle Worm-composting

We'll be answering all of your Green Star School launch questions and demonstrating worm-composting.


"Under the Sea" photobooth

Take pictures with family and friends in our free "underwater" photobooth.


Wonder Workshop

Program the "Dash" robot to maneuver in a simulated underwater robot experience.


Deep-Sea vent

Make your own deep-sea vent to explore how underwater vents behave on our ocean's floor.


Floating boat

Design a boat to hold your family.  Test by using pennies for each passenger.


Strongest bridge

Design a bridge and test it's strength.



At this station, learn more about some STEM careers in marine science including: underwater archeology, software engineering, deep-sea research, molecular biology, and deep-sea research technicians.


Modular Robotics

Use think, sense, and act magnetic Cubelets to create robots that move and interact.


Stop-Motion Animation

Create and tell your own underwater story in a clay-mation movie using iPads and Play-doh.
