"Coding is awesome!" was shouted by a group of 6th graders on their way from math class to lunch. Students all across the building agreed. Many students even earned their "Hour of Code" certificate from code.org. One of the highlights of the week was when 8th graders partnered with kindergarteners to introduce them to simple coding programs, including Daisy the Dinosaur and Lightbot.
Computers are everywhere, but fewer schools teach computer science than 10 years ago. Good news is, we’re well on our way to changing this. If you heard about the Hour of Code last year, you might know it made history. In one week, 15 million students tried computer science!
