Science is Everywhere! Annual Event

The MESA after-school program partnered with the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley to offer our annual two-Saturday "Science is Everywhere!" event.  On Saturday, February 1st, MESA students from around the district met at Columbine Elementary to participate in science stations.  Students were able to divert water supply the City of Longmont's water table, see the effects of water pollution with the Keep it Clean Partnership, touch "glaciers" with UNAVCO, and participate in a dropsonde design challenge with UCAR.

The following Saturday, students and their families met at Columbine to ride a district bus to Fiske Planetarium.  The group listened to a star talk and watched the movie, "Super Volcanoes."  Keep it Clean, UNAVCO, and UCAR returned with their demonstrations to allow students to share what they had learned with their families the past week.
