Newcomers Learn The Design Process

Timberline PK-8 is home to St. Vrain Valley School District's Newcomer Program for 6th through 8th graders. The program offers intensive, supplementary support for English language development while students who are new to the country acclimate to the U.S. school system, culture, and academic content areas. The newcomers developed their language skills in late September by learning the terms used in design thinking while creating a display for the school. The students are excited to practice their newly acquired vocabulary by using the design process to create bilingual games and activities for our Kindergarten students.
