The Medical and BioScience Academy (MBSA) of Longmont High School is designed for students interested in careers or post-secondary education rooted in the health sciences. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, industries surrounding the health sciences (including biotechnology, medical studies, and other related fields) are expected to experience a tremendous amount of growth over the next 10 to 20 years. MBSA students are primed to take advantage of this opportunity. The MBSA provides rigorous college-preparatory curricula and instruction that prepare students for admissions to competitive, post-secondary educational programs in medicine, research, and allied health sciences. MBSA students are required to enroll in Honors-level and Advanced Placement (AP) math and science classes, ensuring a strong knowledge base. Students concurrently experience courses such as Introduction to Health Care Foundations, Nutrition & Wellness, Anatomy & Physiology, and Forensic Science. Along with rigorous coursework, MBSA seniors apply for and complete a one-semester capstone project through an internship at a health science or bioscience organization.  MBSA students will:
