Lights, Camera, Action!

Lights, Camera, Action!

Every week, our STEM Broadcasting class creates a weekly video announcement. It is quite a big production, under the supervision of Carolyn Thaler.

First, they start by assigning roles from broadcaster, director, editor, and beyond. The team typically consists of 4-8 students each week. Second, they create a skeleton of the script. Then, they write their script. After that comes the fun part of recording. The students independently film and direct each other. Then the hard work of editing comes into play. This is often the biggest job of the production and can sometimes require at home completion by our students.

When all is said and done, the final cut is uploaded to our YouTube channel, emailed to staff, and uploaded to Twitter and Facebook accounts.
