During National Computer Science Week (Dec 9-13), students at Northridge Elementary School engaged in an hour-long journey into coding. Students visited http://code.org/learn to write their very first computer program. Students learned the basic concepts of Computer Science with drag and drop programming. In this game-like, self-directed tutorial students learned about repeat-loops, conditionals and basic algorithms. With guest video appearances from Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, along with “Angry Birds” and “Plants vs. Zombies”, this game will keep kids engaged and introduce them to coding. Geared towards ages 6-106, you can check it out and create YOUR very first computer program at code.org/learn.
