Hot Air Balloons!

Freshmen students at Skyline High School were tasked with creating a device that could take aerial observations of the school.  They excitedly stepped up to the challenge!  Making assumptions about testing day air temperatures and density, students were able to apply math skills (rearranging equations, solving for an unknown variable) to determine what volume the balloon would need in order to lift a microcamera above the school.  


 It was a good thing students estimated warmer than average temperatures, because testing day turned out to be a beautiful 55 degree December day! Despite the warm temperatures several balloons were successful. They rose from the ground with gleeful cries and exclamations.
