CU TEAMS - Spaghetti Bridges

The CU TEAMS Club at Northridge started back up after the holidays with an exciting challenge. Students needed to work with limited materials (mostly spaghetti noodles and glue) to plan, design, and prototype a bridge that would have to withstand a certain weight. Teams worked together to share background knowledge, discuss the information presented to them by the CU students, and develop a strategy. Plans were often reiterated as teams began to encounter difficulties (broken noodles, uncooperative glue, etc.). When their prototypes are complete, they will test their structural integrity by setting a large number of washers in certain spots on their bridge. If it breaks, they get to go through the Design Thinking Process yet again to improve what they built!
