Creating an Animal House in Math

During math class in November, 4th Graders in Mr. Grandprey's class took on the challenge to build a house for a small alligator friend.  After they built the house out of place value blocks, they had to use their math skills to estimate the value of the blocks they used and then calculate the actual value.  Students recorded their answers and used the information to compare and calculate the difference between their estimation and actual value of their house.
