Cranes and Seismographs with CU TEAMS

The CU TEAMS group meets weekly at Indian Peaks.  Select students from grades 3-5 attend each session, led by CU students, to engage in fun, hands-on engineering challenges.  This past week, students designed and built a machine crane to lift the most weight at a set distance away from the base of the machine.  Each team was able to test their design by lifting pennies in a paper cup.  In past weeks, students built their own seismographs to learn how earthquakes are measured.  Each device was tested by shaking the table to see what and how each seismograph records.
