4th and 5th Grades Work With CU TEAMS

We began our second year of partnering with CU TEAMS in October.  This year, however, students were able to work on their design challenges in the newly redesigned STEM Lab!  Working with our CU Fellow, students used the Design Thinking process to solve various curriculum-aligned problems.  Fifth graders used what they learned about severe weather in various regions of the United States to design houses that could withstand tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes.  Fourth graders enriched their understanding of how people affect the environment by designing oil booms that minimize the impact of oil spills in the ocean and on the shores of our planet.
